Well, okay, I promised to get to the source about Edgar Mitchell. If this blog is all about credibility then it has to be all about verifiable information, right? If I rely on memory I might end up getting accused of practicing Soviet style journalism, making things up to fit a party line.

So what was the source of my claim that I heard former astronaut Edgar Mitchell state unequivocally that we are in contact with aliens and that they are diminutive and look very strange to us? Actually, it didn’t take much to find it, just a simple Google search: “Edgar Mitchell radio interview” is what I typed in. It turns out the interview is posted all over the place, so I can’t claim any scoop here. The interview took place on July 23, 2008, on Radio Kerrang, a British radio station, and Mitchell was interviewed by Nick Margerrison on his The Night Before program. The interview only lasted nine minutes, but it was heady stuff as you can tell from the excitement of the interviewer who couldn’t suppress laughs of excitement and exclamations like “Wow!” Here are the highlights:

Margerrison: You’re convinced we are not alone in the universe?

Edgar Mitchell: “I know for sure we’re not alone in the universe. … I happen to be privileged enough to be in on the fact that we have been visited on this planet and the UFO phenomenon is real, although it has been covered up by our governments for quite a long time.”

Margerrison: (laughs) So you believe in the whole deal?

Mitchell: There’s more nonsense out there about this than there is real knowledge, but it is a real phenomenon and there are a few of us (who know). It’s been covered up by all our governments for the last 60 years or so. But slowly it’s leaked out and some of us are privileged to have been briefed on some of it. I happen to have grown up in Roswell, New Mexico, where presumably the Roswell incident of 1947 took place and I’m quite knowledgeable about it there since I grew up there. But I’ve also been in military circles and intelligence circles that know below the surface of what has been public knowledge that, yes, we have been visited.

Margerrison: Wow! So you’ve been briefed on the fact that we’ve been visited?

Mitchell: Well, briefed is one word for it. I have been involved in much of this work – it’s not my main work. It’s not my main interest. But I’ve been deeply involved in certain committees and research programs with very credible scientists and various intelligence people that do know the real inside story and I am not hesitant to talk about it.

Margerrison: Is it regular contact, or one crash?

Mitchell: Well, no, there is quite a bit of contact going on. I can’t tell you because I don’t know all the extent of it, not all of the inside details because that is not my really main interest. But the fact that we have been visited, that the (July 1947) Roswell crash is real and a number of other contacts have been real and ongoing is pretty well known to those of us who have been briefed and been close to the subject matter.

Margerrison: So, why is it being covered up then? Why is this not mainstream?

Mitchell: The reason for that goes back to when the main instances started taking place after World War II when in the United States at least – I can’t speak for the European governments or South American governments. All of them recently have started opening their files. This has started to open up and the Internet, or look at some of the international press, you’ll start to get the stories that are coming out now.

Margerrison: What’s happening over the next four years—all the UFO files here in the UK are being released. Do you think it’s the case that we are ramping up maybe to the UK admitting?

Mitchell: I can’t say how fast it’s going to happen, but certainly the public awareness of it is increasing, the public acceptance is increasing. The amount of misinformation, covert and actual attempts to cover up seem to be decreasing. I think we’re headed for real disclosure by some serious organizations moving in that direction.

Margerrison: You’ve had a long time to think about this. What do you think the impact will be on the world when it is finally mainstream news that there are alien beings from outside the planet?

Mitchell: Well, I think at this point, it’s probably a whole bunch of ‘What’s new?’ I think that certainly in the United States that well over 70% of the people now accept this as fact. While they do not know all the correct story, they do know there has been – or accept the fact – that there has been visitation and see UFOs in the skies all the time that are very likely alien craft. Now, not all of them (aerial craft) are. I suspect that some of them are homegrown. I suspect that in the past sixty years or so that there has been some back-engineering (of E. T. technologies) and the creation of this type of equipment. But it’s not nearly as sophisticated yet as what the visitors have.

Margerrison: So, as part of your knowing about all this and also going public with it, do you worry about your safety with this kind of stuff?

Mitchell: Oh, I think those days are gone. That used to be a concern among the people on the inside. But I don’t think they are knocking anybody off (for talking) any more or doing drastic things to them.

Margerrison: What do they look like?

Mitchell: You’ve seen some of the pictures. The pictures that I know of, some of them are these little people that look strange to us. As far as I know from my (professional) contacts that have had contact, that’s pretty accurate.”
…..
That’s the essence of the interview. I didn’t transcribe it. That was done by Dr. Michael Salla of the Exopolitics Institute and posted on Scribd.com. I’m going to talk a lot about Michael Salla down the line. He’s on the front lines of the disclosure movement.

The entire Mitchell interview is on YouTube and is easy to access. I did rely on my memory when I wrote about this interview in the first post, and what I recalled was close enough though not verbatim. The fact my memory was not entirely accurate underscores the need for sourcing. That’s what this blog will do: give the source so that you can see for yourself and make up your mind about things based on facts.

There’s actually was not a whole lot new in the Radio Kerrang interview. Mitchell has been talking about what he knows for a long time, but I don’t believe he has ever been as blunt and unequivocal about the alien presence as in this interview. He’s been giving a lot more interviews lately, adding, clarifying, explaining. It’s worth following up on through Internet searches.

Most recently, he took part in the so-called X-Conference 2009 on April 19, 2009, in Gaithersburg, MD, and repeated essentially what he stated last August. The conference was organized by UFO disclosure activist Stephen Bassett, a former congressional candidate, and was all about pressuring the government to reveal what it knows. The following day, Mitchell restated his claims about the alien presence in a talk at the Washington Press Club. He encouraged the Obama administration to disclose what the U. S. government knows about extraterrestrial contacts with the human race.

Because of his background, Mitchell gets high marks for credibility: a man who walked on the moon, but who has never claimed to have had a UFO experience of his own, not on the moon or on earth. He explains how he came to his conclusions about the truth about the alien presence. For one, he was raised on a ranch not far from the Roswell UFO crash site. After he retired as an astronaut, people from the region with a direct knowledge of the incident trusted him because of who he is: a man of the people who had walked on the moon. They began telling him what they knew, of their first hand experiences that included being threatened with death if they talked about their knowledge. Mitchell ended up concluding an alien craft had indeed crashed at Roswell, and he says in interviews this was later corroborated by a high-ranking military source. It’s clear from his recent comments that he has also received information from a number of insiders, none of whom he names. Does this weaken his credibility? He is Edgar Mitchell, a man who walked on the moon. Is he making all of this up?

SO MUCH FOR FACTS, NOW FOR OPINION

Despite Mitchell’s revelations, the reality of an extraterrestrial presence on Earth still remains the greatest story yet to be told. Where are the artifacts? Where are the bodies? Where are the living creatures with whom the new priesthood, these keepers of the cosmic secrets, have been interacting for the last sixty years? If there are revelations forthcoming, what will they amount to? Little crumbs, trite and obvious admissions like “We are not alone in the universe?”

The people who hold these secrets for themselves are a new priesthood, self consecrated. They hold the keys to a new cosmic perspective and they have kept these secrets to themselves because they are powerful enough to get away with it. They have organized their priestly caste around protocols of secrecy and rituals of silence and denial. They keep their secrets hidden inside their temples surrounded by phalanxes of guards. The secrets are a source of power, and they do not want to give up their power. Edgar Mitchell was not able to gain access to the temple, but merely to the antechamber. He was not allowed into the inner sanctum where the secrets are all stashed away in compartments and kept secure from heathen gaze.

People have been gathering outside the temple for decades, a rabble dressed in shabby garments, with hands out begging for the nourishment of truth but getting only crumbs if even that much. For decades, they have been ridiculed and scorned and lied to. They have been spit upon and laughed at and trampled underfoot by the priests and their protectors. The new priesthood is arrogant because it is powerful but it should beware. It may be a ragged crowd at the door, but it is a growing crowd. Soon the crowds will grow even bigger; they will become masses, and the masses will clamor for what the priests have but do not want to share. History is full of examples of what happens when such a critical mass is achieved, when enough people want what is being denied them.

These priests are holding back cosmic truths that can expand human consciousness exponentially. That is what they are keeping from everyone else.

That time is coming—sooner or later a critical mass will be reached when people scream that enough is enough and realize their collective power can no longer be resisted.

They will not be satisfied with crumbs.

Hi, my name is Jim Murdoch. Welcome to my blog. I’ve never done this before and it kind of feels like the first time I jumped out of an airplane. I wondered what I’d gotten myself into, but I took a deep breath and then jumped out the door—and lived to tell about it.

So here goes …

What will this blog be about?

It will be about the greatest story yet to be told: That we may be co-existing not just in this universe but right here in our own backyard—in the skies, in the seas, under the ground—with some pretty strange creatures that didn’t evolve from earthly DNA.

This is going to be about UFOs and extraterrestrials and the books and people that have thrown some light on the subject—at least, the books and the people I have found out about and have spent some time getting to know. It’s going to be about the cloak and dagger stuff, too—the whistle blowers and what they’re saying, and the government and what it’s not saying. And it will be about the disclosure movement, the escalating push of citizens who insist that We the People have the right to know the truth.

And then it will be about odds and ends, just for the fun of it.

Here’s an example of the odd:

The Republic of Kazakhstan in Central Asia is in the process of building the world’s first alien embassy according to some local media reports. If these reports are to be believed, the authorities have already allocated a large plot of land in the city of Almaty for this ambitious project. Facilities to be built within the complex will include a guesthouse, theatre and translation service. A purpose built UFO landing pad and checkpoint will be attached to the embassy.

Kazakhstan’s government believes open contact with aliens is imminent and by being the first nation to specifically create such facilities they are convinced they will reap enormous financial and economic rewards. The Kazakhstan Government also see this as a chance to demonstrate their nations forward thinking policies.”

Sounds like this is coming out of the mouth of Sasha Baron Cohen in a sequel to Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. The attribution for this story made me laugh: “According to some local media reports.” Of course, without naming any of those local media. I tracked the story as far as I could, and ended up scrolling through a Russian language publication of some kind. The style kind of reminds me of Pravda (Truth) and Izvestia (The News), those fusty propaganda rags of the Soviet era. (”There’s no news in Truth and there’s no truth in The News,” the proletarians used to joke.)

Though amusing in its own incredible way, the story made me think of Philip Krapf, a former Los Angeles Times copy editor who authored two fascinating books about his abduction experiences with aliens who claimed to be part of a galactic federation of planets. They told him their federation wants to establish a 600 square-mile Star City in the heart of the American southwest, but he claims the United States government won’t allow it.

The Los Angeles Times is not Pravda or Izvestia, and Phillip Krapf is not a Soviet newspaper hack or Sasha Baron Cohen. He’s got a Pulitzer Prize on his resume and thirty years of newspaper experience. You will hear more about him down the line and about his books. Credibility. That’s what counts here.

Credibility as in the case of Dr. Edgar Mitchell. Maybe you’ve already heard something about him and his revelations about the extraterrestrial presence and about Roswell. He’s a retired U.S. Navy captain, holds a Ph.D in aeronautics and astronautics from MIT, and was the sixth American to walk on the moon.

What does he have to say about the subject of UFOs and extraterrestrials?

Well, he’s been pretty vocal about the subject for a long time, but last July, on a radio program hosted by someone with a British accent, I heard him unequivocally state that he was told by a high-ranking military official that we are in fact in contact with an extraterrestrial race and that they are diminutive and “look very strange to us.” And an alien spacecraft really did crash at Roswell. The radio interviewer, normally not at a loss for words, was flabbergasted and blurted out, “Aren’t you afraid for your life making such revelations, I mean, that somebody could kill you?” To which the former astronaut responded, “Oh, I don’t think they do that anymore.”

I can’t remember the name of the program or the interviewer. I’m relying on memory here, so please don’t accuse me of practicing Soviet-era journalism. It’s late, I’m kind of tired, and my star charts tell me I’m entering into a period torpor and sloth. More on Edgar Mitchell later. I absolutely promise I will come up with not only the name of the interviewer and the program, but also a link so you can listen to it yourself.

Credibility, that’s the name of the game here. Credibility in dealing with the incredible, with the greatest story yet to be told.

There are hundreds of people like Edgar Mitchell, credible people with an incredible story, and they will get space here.

Please think of this blog as a cozy coffee shop. There’s a fire crackling in the fireplace, the coffee’s steaming hot. Pull up a chair and let’s have a chat about the greatest story yet to be told.

JM
